May 2019 Update

This month’s Executive Director’s Update recognizes two accomplishments:  City of Riverside Council Member, Sara S. Lommatzsch, receiving the Arthur D. Haddad Regional Steward Award on April 18, 2019, at the Annual Spring Dinner, and the upcoming retirement of longtime MVRPC staff member, Laura Loges, on May 31, 2019. April 2019 Update

The April update features a summary of new transportation projects which received Board of Director’s approval on March 7, 2019. Over $26.6 million in federal transportation funds, for twenty-one (21) roadway, traffic signal, bikeway, transit, transportation alternatives, and planning projects, will benefit the Miami Valley Region. The update also includes a list of May events to celebrate National Bike Month, an update on MVRPC’s Air Quality Awareness Program’s recent partnership with the National Weather Service in Wilmington, and new grant and funding opportunities available. February 2019

MVRPC staff compiled this summary of the local arts and cultural assets, arts vibrancy and engagement, and the economic impact of the arts in the Miami Valley to provide a snapshot of this Region's burgeoning arts scene. January 2019

Overall, 2018 saw many areas of growth for MVRPC. Specifically several new organizations and jurisdictions were engaged in regional efforts through the new Greater Region Mobility Initiative (GRMI), the Equity Initiative, and Sustainability Roundtables. Each topic attracted a new group of stakeholders dedicated to expanding collaboration and improving the Region. Launched in 2018, the GRMI is a pilot program focusing on developing a transportation coordination plan for a nine-county region. The Equity Initiative and Sustainability Roundtables both focused on improving residents’ quality of life by addressing existing problems and working together with residents, community leaders, and organizations to make improvements.
