MVRPC launched the Miami Valley Regional Housing Study in February 2025. The study area covers a 6+ county Region and includes Darke, Greene, Miami, Montgomery, Preble, Shelby, and northern Warren counties.
The Miami Valley Regional Housing Study is a multi-year effort with a focus on several projects and programs intended to increase awareness of current housing issues. In addition, it aims to provide tools and best practices resources relevant to addressing housing issues faced in the Miami Valley.
The Miami Valley Regional Housing Study is not intended to develop a regional housing plan or housing needs assessment. Rather, the study consists of three main interrelated components: Data Hub; Issue Briefs; and Resource Hub. These components are designed to identify and investigate critical housing issues in the Miami Valley and to inform housing policies and programs at the local level by providing data and information.
Data Hub: Features demographic, socio-economic, and housing data through interactive maps and charts at the sub-regional level.
- Issue Briefs: Provides a deeper dive of the issue, telling the story of where the Region stands on a given topic, supplemented with relevant data, maps, and information.
- Resource Hub: Features various housing related reports, data and mapping tools, and best practices resources on policies, regulations, programs, and strategies published by other organizations.
Please visit the Miami Valley Regional Housing Study Information Center for the latest information on this important regional effort and to view the data, issue briefs, and resources.
