January 2018 Update

With 2017 behind us, let’s reflect on MVRPC’s undertakings and accomplishments this past year, as we continued shaping our region’s future together. A few highlights for the year include MVRPC’s innovative funding solution which assisted in the advancement of the Montgomery County US 35 project; releasing the Miami Valley Regional Profiles; launching new matching software for the Rideshare Program; assisting in the facilitation of the International Trails Symposium, and receiving numerous awards. December 2017 Update

The City of Oakwood recently completed a “road diet” concept on Shroyer Road that reduced the number of lanes to improve safety for all modes of transportation. To help with traffic flow and reduce crashes, exclusive left-turn lanes were added at cross- street intersections. Click read full article to learn more and watch a short video. Read full article

November 2017 Update

Funding through Enhanced Mobility for Seniors and Individuals with Disabilities Program awarded to seven regional agencies.
Recently, MVRPC received applications from entities seeking funding through the Enhanced Mobility for Seniors and Individuals with Disabilities Program (Section 5310). Funds are made available annually to transit agencies, governmental authorities, private providers of public transportation and duly-formed private, not-for-profit organizations, to assist in the provision of transportation for seniors and individuals with disabilities in Greene, Miami, Montgomery and northern Warren Counties. Applicants awarded funding included agencies replacing older vehicles or adding vehicles to their fleets to expand services. Overall, seven local agencies were awarded funding totaling almost $700,000. To learn more about this funding, visit mvrpc.org/specialized-transportation-program. Read full article

October 2017 Update

Every four years, partnering agencies of the Nation’s Largest Paved Trail Network survey trail users. They are asked questions like: How did you hear about the trails? What is your primary activity on the trails, and did you make a purchase during your outing on the trail?
