Crews will install a northbound contraflow lane from 8 p.m. Monday, April 12, to 6 a.m. Tuesday, April 13. Following this, one lane of northbound traffic will be maintained in the CF lane on the southbound side of the interstate, and two lanes of northbound traffic will continue to be maintained on the northbound side.

  • U.S. 42 Restricted Crossing U-Turn (RCUT) in Greene County is open, and new traffic patterns are in effect through the intersection at U.S. 42 and C.R. 75 (Spring Valley Paintersville Road). Following a winter hiatus, contractors for ODOT are returning to the site of the RCUT on U.S. Route 42 in Greene County to complete final paving operations and other field work. Starting the week of March 29 through April 9, The contractor will be working to extend the median concrete island in both the north and southbound directions and complete other, minor field work. Starting in late April, crews from R.B. Jergens Contractors will be placing the final surface course of asphalt and apply permanent pavement markings on U.S. 42 at Spring Valley Paintersville Road (SVPR) where the at-grade crossing has been eliminated. Paving operations will begin the week of April 26, and traffic will be maintained by flaggers during working hours. With the elimination of the at-grade crossing from SVPR, cross-street traffic and left-turn movements are prohibited, and motorists from SVPR must now turn right onto U.S. 42 and then make a legal U-turn at the nearby crossover, or loon. The RCUT has been designed to accommodate all vehicles, including large, oversized trucks, semi tractor-trailers and farm equipment.
