The Miami Valley Regional Planning Commission (MVRPC) in Dayton, Ohio has one part-time (40 hours per month) Thriving Communities internship position open during the first, second, and third quarter of calendar year 2026 (approximately from February 16, 2026 to September 30, 2026).
Internship Description:
The intern will assist the Institute for Livable & Equitable Communities program with the Great Lakes Thriving Communities Grantmaking grant project (“Academy for Thriving Communities) and support various project-specific tasks, including:
- Community Assessment and Collaborative Problem-Solving
- Neighborhood Engagement and Resident Education
- Project Coordination and Administrative Support
Applicants should possess: knowledge of environmental and public health principles and practices; administrative support and event/meeting coordination capacity; and basic software and computer technology skills (word processing, databases, spreadsheets, etc.).
Minimum Qualifications:
- Must be currently enrolled in a degree (undergraduate or graduate) program in environmental sciences, public health, education, or related field.
- Use of a personal vehicle and a valid driver’s license are required for field work during working hours.
- Some practical professional experience preferred.
