MVRPC has established, and with partners supports, three committees responsible for prioritizing issues, coordinating activities, and gathering input for the AWQMP and other environmental planning work the agency undertakes.
Miami Watersheds Network
The Miami Watersheds Network is jointly coordinated by MVRPC, The Little Miami Watershed Network, and the Miami Conservancy District and includes representatives from the entire Great Miami River Basin, including portions of MVRPC’s planning area. The Network meets quarterly, usually in person in the watershed, and provides an opportunity for professional networking, community sharing and hearing about issues beyond MVRPC’s planning work.
Water & Environment Subcommittee (WESC)
The WESC serves as MVRPC’s primary stakeholder input forum for the full range of environmental planning work performed at the agency. This includes water quality planning work, as well as climate pollution reduction, community resiliency and air quality. The WESC meets five times per year (January, March, May, September and November) usually as a virtual meeting.
Areawide Facility Planning Subcommittee (AFPSC)
As delineated in the AWQMP, the AFPSC is a dedicated forum for Designated Management Agencies (wastewater DMAs) to consider and address specific issues related to maintenance or updating of the Areawide Water Quality Management Plan. The AFPSC meets as needed.
