Regional Resiliency
As the Region begins to face an increase in extreme-weather related events, MVRPC wants to ensure our communities have the tools and knowledge to protect their residents and local economies. In order to create a resilient and sustainable region, it is necessary to incorporate practices that help us adapt and mitigate to this every changing environment. MVRPC worked with our members, stakeholders and resiliency experts to create tools and resources to support this effort.

Regional Resiliency Guidebook & Toolkit: As part of the efforts to ensure our region remains resilient against natural threats and hazards, the agency worked with the support of our consultant Sasaki & Associates to develop a Regional Resiliency Guidebook and Toolkit.

2019 Memorial Day Tornadoes Long Term Disaster Recovery StoryMap Released
On Memorial Day 2019 the Miami Valley was hit by a record-breaking number of tornadoes in a single night. The region was quick to act ensuring the right partners came together to aid in response and long-term recovery. MVRPC created a storyline showcasing the event, including outlining the recovery process, and steps being taken to ensure the region remains protected against future extreme weather-related events.
