The primary purpose of the Congestion Mitigation and Air Quality Improvement Program (CMAQ) is to fund projects and programs in air quality non attainment and maintenance areas for ozone, carbon monoxide (CO), and particulate matter which reduce transportation related emissions.
On September 5, 2013 MVRPC 's Board of Directors authorized MVRPC staff to solicit for new STP, CMAQ and TA Projects. Subsequently, staff solicited MVRPC area jurisdictions beginning on September 10, 2013. These applications for Funds were received by the October 10, 2013 deadline.
On December 6, 2012, the MVRPC Board approved nearly $8.2 million for 13 CMAQ projects. Please see the detailed project award lists below.
