The Miami Valley region is required by the federal Clean Air Act to have a plan to keep the air clean. MVRPC incorporates air quality issues into planning through several programs and initiatives.
In accordance with the Clean Water Act, MVRPC's Water Quality Managment program serves as the Designated Water Quality Planning Agency for the Miami Valley Region. MVRPC has adopted a watershed focus to deal with water resource issues, and groundwater protection continues to be another major focus of the Agency.
