b'Sustainable Solutions & EnvironmentMVRPC Hosts the 5 THAnnual Miami Valley Climate Planning Seminar The Miami Valley Regional Planning Commission hosted the 5th annual 2024 Miami Valley Climate Planning Seminar on Friday, May 3, 2024 at Dayton Realtors. Dr. Stacy Porter facilitated an En-ROADs Climate Solutions Workshop with Wittenberg University at the time. In the workshop, attendees suggested different ideas to reduce carbon emissions such as energy efficiency, reducing deforestation, and carbon dioxide removal. The facilitator then tests these approaches in the En-ROADS Climate Solutions Simulator, so participants can see the impact on global temperature and other factors. The goal of the workshop is to create a scenario that limits global warming. Attendees broke into groups to discuss ideas for the Miami Valley Region and suggest the combination of actions for the best results.
