Planner II

The Miami Valley Regional Planning Commission (MVRPC) is accepting applications for the Planner II position. MVRPC serves an innovative multi-county region of approximately one million people in the area surrounding Dayton, OH (southwest Ohio). As a Regional Planning Commission (RPC), the agency provides planning services for members and also functions as the Metropolitan Planning Organization (MPO), a designation that provides federal funding for planning, rideshare, purchase of replacement vans and buses, and bridge, roadway, and multiuse trail construction.

The Planner II is a junior level position with a significant degree of responsibilities and technical scope and MVRPC is looking for a talented planner who possesses and brings in strong research, data analytic, and data visualization experiences and skillset, especially in the use of Tableau.  As a member of the Regional Planning team comprised of planners and GIS professionals, the Planner II will work in a team environment, maintain effective communication with other team members, and provide necessary support on the preparation of long- and short-term regional and community planning projects.

Other considerations during the application review process include, but are not limited to, the candidate’s relevant experiences in: 1) conducting regional and community planning projects; 2) Census programs and the use of Census datasets; 3) communicating and working with local jurisdictions, other regional stakeholders, and the general public; and 4) use of MS Office and Adobe CS. 

Minimum qualifications for this Planner II position include: Bachelor's Degree in planning, urban studies, geography, or related field with a minimum of two (2) years of relevant experiences. Master’s Degree and/or AICP Certification is a plus.
