Greene County US42
Feasibility Study
Overview
This federally-funded study conducted the necessary planning, environmental analyses and preliminary engineering to address safety concerns for motorists, pedestrians and bicyclists as well as a general concern about access to the U.S. 42 within the Wilberforce/Central State communities. Following Steps 1-4 of ODOT's 10-Step Project Development Process for Minor Projects, the study recommended a package of solutions that will provide safety, access and utility for the needs of motorists, communities, and other interested parties.
Study Purpose
The Greene County 42 Feasibility Study is to:
- Determine potential options for improving U.S. 42 within the Wilberforce University and Central State University communities.
- Explore the possibility of relocating Bickett Road between U.S. 42 north of Wilberforce and the U.S. 35/Bickett Road intersection.
Study Goals
- Improve safety on US42 and Bickett Road.
- Provide an alternative route to Bickett Road where it passes through the Wilberforce University campus.
- Make safety improvements at the intersection of US42 and Stevenson Road.
