community and Stakeholder Outreach
The successful engagement of communities and regional stakeholders is a key ingredient of the entire Going Places planning process. During Phase I, MVRPC staff began community outreach by presenting at many agency, board, club, and commission meetings as detailed below. During Phase II, MVRPC has continued the community outreach and added stakeholder outreach to individuals and/or groups living and working in the Miami Valley Region.
Community Outreach
Since January of 2007, MVRPC staff made presentations to various stakeholders in the Region including both government and non-government organizations to share the outlined 4-year 3-phase planning process. This outreach effort is to publicize the process to the community from an early stage of the planning process and to encourage the active involvement in this initiative. In addition, since the completion of the Existing Condition Asessment Phase, staff hosted a public open house and has made presentations to various stakeholders in the Region highlighting findings from studies conducted as part of Phase I and received formal endorsements from many of the local jurisdictions in the Region .
If your organization is interested in having MVRPC staff give a presentation, please contact Martin Kim, Director of Regional Planning at (937) 223-6323 or mkim@mvrpc.org.

Stakeholder Outreach
Extensive stakeholder outreach efforts throughout the Miami Valley Region are underway to publicize Phase II of Going Places to maximize attendance and participation during the Phase II process so that a broad cross-section of inputs during the scenario building process are assembled.
The regional stakeholder outreach strategy covers both marketing and advertising strategy to publicize various participation opportunities during Phase II, as well as a communication strategy to disseminate information at various times during Phase II.
MVRPC produced promotional materials to publicize community workshops including a series of TV & radio ads, posters, news releases, and a one page flyer publicizing the current Phase II efforts. Stakeholders are also encouraged to become a fan of the Going Places Facebook page in order to get information and interact with others interested in regional land use planning.
