MVRPC maintains many Resources which provide data and information about the Region.
MVRPC staff, using data from the 2010 Census and the 2006-2010 American Community Survey (ACS) 5-year estimates, has put together profiles for the Miami Valley Region, along with some basic data for all jurisdictions in the region and individual profile sheets for eight counties.
A new GIS mapping application is available at the bottom of Census 2010 Regional Profile page at http://www.mvrpc.org/resources/resource-center/census-2010-regional-profile.
MVRPC is now offering many GIS resources through ArcGIS Online (http://www.arcgis.com), a collaborative content management system hosted by a GIS industry leader ESRI.
The resources are accessible by using the search tag of “mvrpc” in ArcGIS Online or in ESRI’s ArcMap GIS software. GIS professionals in the Region, however, are encouraged to join “MVRPC Regional Resources” group so that they not only get full access to various GIS data resources provided by MVRPC such as Web Maps, Layer Packages, and KML files but also to contribute their mapping resources and be part of the regional data sharing efforts.
The Miami Valley Traffic Count Viewer, is an interactive web-based traffic count database system (Traffic Count Viewer) for fast and comprehensive data sharing. MVRPC's 2006-2008 counts are available on the Traffic Count Viewer and the database now includes available historical data between 1997 and 2008. A Traffic Count Viewer tutorial is also available for a download.
The GIS Online Planning Support System (GIS OPSS), an interactive Planning Atlas mapping application, to share varous geospatial datasets. Datasets currently available via GIS OPSS include:
- Census Demographics
- Land Suitability
MVRPC uses the Project Evaluation System (PES) to evaluate and rank transportation projects submitted for Regionally controlled funding. This interactive PES application allows project sponsors to complete the PES ranking for their project applications.
MVRPC now has an online application to allow you to search, query and view maps of current TIP projects. Log on to MVRPC Web TELUS to find projects. Web Telus includes a database query application to find information about projects in the current TIP, and a mapping GIS application to let you find projects near your neighborhood. MVRPC has produced a video Introduction to Web TELUS to help get you started.
