I70 / I75 Interchange

The reconstruction of the I-70/75 interchange near Dayton is of major importance to Ohio’s business community and motoring public. It represents one of the Ohio Department of Transportation’s key strategies for providing efficient,statewide transportation by relieving current bottlenecks in Ohio’s highway network. At the time of its constuction, it was also ODOT District 7’s largest project.

Project Description

• During this project, the I-70/75 interchange was transformed into one of the safest, most modern and efficient interstate crossroads in the country.
• The project also includes the construction of a new interchange named the "Benchwood/Wyse Interchange", that connects Benchwood Rd. on the west side and Wyse Rd. on the east side of the interstate. The interchange incorporates design elements that are unique to Dayton, including the prominent placement of the Wright "B" Flyer image and other indications that Dayton is the "birthplace of aviation."
