Regional Dialogue 2005
Approximately 200 interested citizens of the Miami Valley attended the first annual Regional Dialogue, held at the Dayton Convention Center on March 17, 2005. This Dialogue was the first step in determining the Region’s interest in a cooperative growth compact. Its purpose was to begin discussion on the concepts and principles of regional cooperation, and no final decisions were requested or expected.
MVRPC has published a Regional Dialogue Summary Report, with summary data and charts of attendees’ responses.
In general, there was broad support all the all the concepts and principles of regional cooperation that were presented. There was broad agreement for for each of the six principles of successful regions presented. Additionally, there was strong support for each of the six cooperative growth strategies presented. Finally, those in attendance requested that MVRPC further investigate developing a regional cooperative growth compact for our Region.
