After 20+ years of using GIS, MVRPC has a large amount of geographic data at its disposal. This data is used by MVRPC staff to create maps, answer questions from the public, and make planning decisions.
MVRPC has made an effort to make much of this information available to visitors to our website via these online mapping applications. These applications have been developed to make that same data used by MVRPC staff available to answer questions and inform the public about the Region.
MVRPC maintains various spatial data layers covering the Miami Valley Region. The MVRPC Metadata Explorer allows users to perform searches on spatial data available from MVRPC.
The Miami Valley Traffic Count Viewer, is an interactive web-based traffic count database system (Traffic Count Viewer) for fast and comprehensive data sharing. MVRPC's 2006-2008 counts are available on the Traffic Count Viewer and the database now includes available historical data between 1997 and 2008. A Traffic Count Viewer tutorial is also available for a download.
The interactive Bike Trails map allows riders to look at detailed maps of the Bike Trails system in the Miami Valley. This Bike Trails map has thousands of map markers to assist riders with directions to parking lots, trail access points, and local trail-related businesses. These markers are organized by trail name, so simply choose a trail name from the list on the left to view the trial's GPS file and related markers. Our map initially loads with a limited set of map categories visible, so simply check or uncheck the boxes to the right of the map to change what is viewed.
